  2. Check-in
  3. Agenda approved.
  4. Minutes of past meeting, 15 July 2013, reviewed and approved, with one change (Cleome's wedding trip date corrected).
  5. Old business:
    1. Matters arising from minutes:
      • Noted in "Farm Meeting" portion, below.
    2. Project updates:
      1. Upcoming classes and events:
      2. Recruiting:
        • Jan continues to receive a couple initial queries a week; will report in a meeting when something more serious than the initial turn-around happens.
        • Gerry & Nomi A are focusing their search closer to home (Quebec, Ontario), and are no longer interested.
    3. Health and safety concerns and updates:
      • Tony asked that people not lick serving spoons and then put them back in the food.
  6. New business:
    1. Discussion and request that EcoReality cover Jan's legal costs in the assault charge made by Jennifer Campbell, because the alleged incident is totally unfounded and was during Jan discharging his normal co-op duties.
      • Much discussion on the definition of "assault" and how someone in a particular frame of mind might interpret even friendly, well-meaning gestures as "assault."
      • Much discussion not directly related to the request at hand, about assumptions made about the co-op's agreement with Jen (she was a volunteer, subject to our standard volunteer agreement, with a separate profit-sharing agreement) and her assumptions that she erroneously communicated to others as part of that agreement.
      • AGREED: EcoReality will cover Jan's legal costs in the assault charge made by Jennifer Campbell, recognizing that the alleged incidents took place during the discharge of Jan's normal co-op duties.
  7. Review arrivals/departures, guests and apprentices:
    • Brent Joly left yesterday, saying the "lifestyle was not a good match for him." Some discussion followed on what that meant.
