  5. Old business:
    1. Matters arising from minutes: nothing noted
    2. Project updates:
      1. Upcoming classes and events: nothing noted.
      2. Recruiting:
        • Series of follow-up emails started.
      3. EcoNest cottage: no change.
    3. Health and safety concerns and updates:
      • Jen concerned about the poles securing the greenhouse side roller are not secured in the ground. She was hit in the head with one when it came up with the side. Jan will go over proper roll-up procedure for safe use with her.
  6. New business:
    1. AGREED: Tony can store bacon and limited other meat in one of the refrigerators in the market packing area and cook it for his own use away from either of the houses. This is a one-person exception to our vegetarian policy due to a misunderstanding about the vegetarian nature of the site when he moved in.
      • Also, Tony was reminded that oysters and other shellfish are not vegetables, and are not to be cooked nor stored in the house.
  7. Review arrivals/departures, guests and apprentices:
    • Mark arrived May 18 -- welcome, Mark!
    • Tony gone today through July 11 -- have a good trip, Tony!
    • Will arrives June 1.
    • Cleome arriving June 14, may be here Memorial Day Weekend (May 25-27).
    • Cleome gone July 6-22.
    • Adrienne arriving next Friday for a week or two; will be in a tent unless weather is terrible, in which case, she will share Jen's room.
  8. Farm meeting:
    • Old items to track:
      1. Jan and others: re-arrange the greenhouse tables in preparation for massive numbers of starts -- in progress.
      2. Tent caterpillars: Need to debug remaining heavy infestation in one willow, plus big apple tree.
      3. Jan/Jen: begin making horsetail/nettle tea to keep powdery mildew and other fungus down.
      4. Rudy/Jen/India/Brooklyn will begin weeding the two strawberry beds, and will capture nice looking babies for sale in pots.
      5. Jen plant more potatoes in three remaining potato cages.
      6. India/Brooklyn: de-taping cardboard for sheet mulching.
      7. Jen will investigate making some nice goat name tags for their collars.
      8. Fix big rototiller -- won't run for more than a minutes or so; investigate fuel blockage.
      9. Jen/Jan investigate using small greenhouse as a food dehydrator.
      10. Complete irrigation plumbing in greenhouse after locating and levelling tables. In process as tables are positioned and levelled.
      11. Direct seed: carrots, lettuce, beets.
      12. Boost priority of fixing Vanagon.
      13. Goat high-tension fencing.
      14. Finish scything east and west rooms in greenhouse.
      15. Rototill east and west rooms in greenhouse.
      16. Chipping -- Jan check mill for cedar bark for prop room floor.
      17. Cane berries, weeding and drainage.
    • New items:
      1. Jen: Need cover for supplies in greenhouse.
      2. Transplant pumpkins to east of white house.
    • Work party Friday, pot luck Friday evening.
      • Heather having back problems, and would rather not do it this Friday.
