  5. Old business:
    1. Matters arising from minutes, and other free-ranging old business:
      • Goats have moved on, and are not bothering strawberries nor Rudy's fence any more.
      • Firewood swap for pressure washer is stalled, due to pickup failure. Jan will suggest alternatives.
      • Rudy will check into getting more firewood from the place we got the first four cords from.
      • Vanagon fuel tank installed, but Jan forgot to replace fuel filter, which made for a long trip back from Ganges.
      • Security deposits: Ben reported one hour of farm labour from Emerik, none for Scout or San. Penny did an appropriate amount of cleanup around the outside of the Yellow House.
      • Jan still working on next year's budget.
      • Jan has located a suitable buck for Maya and possible one or more of the others that Zukiana is unable to service.
      • Our lawyer has contacted VIHA about their visit, but Jan has not been able to connect with him yet.
    2. To do list not reviewed; Jan will remove completed items at his discretion.

    4. Project updates:
      1. Community farm store: no change
      2. Upcoming classes and events: need to start soon promoting the Cider making workshop on Sunday, 16 December.
      3. Recruiting:
        • Conversation continues with organic farmer from India who is interested in becoming a business partner.
      4. Goat shed II: with Carol's connector to the milking tent, it's complete as it's going to get. Concluded that indoor milking is impractical. Close off project and remove from standing agenda items.
      5. Commercial propagation greenhouse: close books and remove from standing agenda items.
      6. Emergency power: no change
      7. Yellow house suite: no change
      8. Water system: no change
  6. Health & safety: nothing noted.
  7. New business:
    1. Meter readings and billing for electricity use: $45.96 per room in the White House.
    2. AGREED: to rescind agreement made on 2011-11-30 to charge Jan & Carol rent for the Yellow House, retroactive to September 2012, when yellow house room rental income began going directly to the co-op. The co-op will pay all expenses for renting these rooms, also retroactive to September.
    3. AGREED: to firewood assessment of $25 per each of five White House rooms, per month, October through May. Based on: eight cords of wood for $2,000, divided by two houses ($1,000 for each house), divided by five rooms ($200 per room) divided by eight heating months, October through May ($25). Jan will discuss with Ben to make sure he thinks this works -- or come up with a better idea.
    4. Review 2012-11 harvest, 2012-11 sales, 2012-11 labour, and New.gif 2012-11 gross productivity not done, defer to next meeting.
  8. Review arrivals/departures, guests and apprentices:
    1. Karen and Jesse are now getting settled in the Yellow House -- welcome! Jan reports things are quiet and clean.
    2. Emerik has given notice, and will leave by the end of December.
