Sunday 1 February 2009: Residents' Meeting

    • Shannon – 6 – Pain.
    • Susie Anne – 9 – A cry and a bath and a meal. Good.
    • James – 9.5 – Looking forward to good nights sleep
    • Jan – 9 – Stressed about things promised to other people.
    • Carol – 9 – Had a cry and needs a bath.
    • Rudy – 8 – Maybe needs a good cry and a bath too.
    • Silvana – 5 – Hard speaking English all day.
  • Agenda/Minutes:
    • Agenda approved
    • Approved last week's minutes.
    • Saturday February 7th James would like to go for a hike up Mt Maxwell at 9:30am. It’s a five hour hike. Everyone is invited. Girls would stay home with one of the mommas.
      • Discussion:
      • ACTION [x] Jan knows that we have arrivals that day. He will encourage them to come a day early. (Jan Steinman)
    • Jan did amoritization schedules for the White House. He is available for questions when we have them.
    • The White House household is going on a candida diet for the next couple weeks.
      • ACTION [x] Shannon will send a list to all residents so all can know what our food restrictions and possibilities are in the next weeks. (Shannon Cowan)
    • Chickens discussion- continued from Jan 18.
      • Lots of discussion occurred with a need for more.
      • ACTION [x] Jan will arrange for the chicken discussion to come up for again before the next resident’s meeting. He will confer with everyone to find a meeting time that can be covered by outside childcare. (Jan Steinman)
    • Discuss car needs for white house. 11:14, 1 February 2009 (PST)}}
      • Discussion:
      • Rudy is willing to help with fixing vehicles.
      • ACTION Short term-the moms will find other means of transportation or arrange different activities.
      • ACTION [x] Long term – Jan, Carol and Rudy will work together to get one or both of the inoperative vehicles going. (Jan Steinman)
      • ACTION [x] Carol will check in with Axel for one of the parts needed for the red Jetta. (Carol Wagner)
    • Review garden and farm issues.
      • Carol and Shannon have determined a better location for the incoming raspberries than the one discussed during the garden walk with the group this morning.
      • Shannon will be creating a drawing of the garden plan for people to brainstorm with.
    • Review arrivals/departures, guests and apprentices.
      • James’ mom will be visiting February 2-3 at the White House.
      • James will be gone with Erica (the Passat) on February 9-11th to Victoria for ambulance stuff.
      • Yun Kung will be leaving sometime around the end of the month of February.
      • Chris and Sarah will be arriving to WWOOF on February 7th for one to two weeks.
      • Chris and Kate and baby will be arriving on February 19.
      • ACTION [x] James will find the agreements made about notifying everyone about guests arriving and telephoning each other as well as emailing about sudden upcoming events or changes to events and create a link to them. (James Cowan)
